TRANSCEND -Transdisciplinary methods for societal impact assessment and impact creation for security research technologies.

Description

The project aims to improve citizen and societal engagement in security research and innovation (R&I). It will create a Toolbox of methods to enhance civil society involvement, tested through four pilots with diverse organisations. The project will develop guidelines for meaningful public engagement and the use of the Toolbox. TRANSCEND seeks to boost effective citizen engagement across the EU, giving civil society a stronger voice and ensuring security practitioners are prepared to support this participation.

The synergy with this project was highlighted in a meeting with Gatherings to consider future collaborations, and through the invitation to join its advisory board, as well as a Horizon Europe grant application.
