Description

The first results of the GATHERINGS project literature review, done within the scope of the project’s WP2, will be presented in a panel at the upcoming Surveillance Studies Network (SSN) Conference by researchers from partner institutions VUB, TRI, and VIC.

The researchers will be present at the panel entitled “SURVEILLANCE PRACTICES OF PUBLIC GATHERINGS IN EUROPE”, organised on the 3rd day of the Conference, the 30th of May. The full timetable of the event is available for consultation HERE.

VUB researchers and GATHERINGS coordinators Mattias de Backer, Lucas Melgaço and Julie Caluwaerts will be presenting their paper entitled “Surveillance Practices of Public Gatherings in Europe”, whereas Christopher Nathan and Francesca Trevisan (TRI) will be presenting their work on “Facial Recognition Technology and Public Gatherings”. Roger von Laufenberg and Hannah Reiter from VIC will also be present with their paper on “Shrouded surveillance in Austria”.
