On December 4th, 2024, Gatherings and another EU-funded project initiative, PRECRISIS, co-organised a joint workshop in Vienna focused on enhancing safety and security in public gatherings. This event was hosted by the Research & Innovation Centre of Johanniter.

Description

This event brought together experts, stakeholders, and practitioners to share insights, identify challenges, and explore future collaborative opportunities. The event featured an interactive session designed to map out needs and knowledge gaps in the practice of various ensures, and on this basis to discuss possible future training activities.

The goal of the workshop was to collaboratively address key issues related to security of public spaces and gatherings, drawing on expertise from both projects. The event set the basis for building future collaborations between PRECRISIS and GATHERINGS and outlined pathways for ongoing cooperation between the Communities of Practice networks from the both projects. This collaboration aims to leverage synergies and drive impactful solutions for public safety.
